about

Nao Otsuka is a composer and multi-instrumentalist born in Tokyo in 1986. He began playing bass guitar at age fourteen, along with studying various music genres on his own. In 2011, he moved to an abandoned junior high school in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

The songs contained in 'Mutter' were created during 2017 and 2018. Nao focused on using tape echo effects while creating this album, adding the effect to both ukulele and bass guitar sounds. This album does not convey nervousness. Instead, it provides a very relaxing feeling throughout, which is representative of Nao's character.
